Jenoptik IPS B100 Optical Bore Inspection Dual Station

Model: IPS B100 / CCS-C100 Flex

YOM: 2016

Typical applications

• Crank cases

• Cylinder liners

• Transmission housings

• Piston rods for trucks

• Steering housings

Main characteristics

• Automatic inspection of bore inner surfaces with 360° all-round lens • Detection of common surface defects such as blowholes, porosities, scratches etc.

• Inspection diameter of 68–110 mm

• Image pickup while in motion

• High inspection speed

• Latest CMOS image sensor technology

• Front collision protection

Operating principle

A 360° all-round lens is moved into the hole and produces an image of the inner surface of the bore.

Circumference lines in the bore are depicted as circle lines in the image plane of the sensor.

Offline system integration

Manual loading The two solutions with manual loading are a pioneering concept for inspections in small series production and prototype production.

These flexible systems allow users to inspect a range of engine block types efficiently and cost-effectively. inspiziert werden.

This creates an undistorted, complete image of the inner surface of the bore.

The high scan rate results in very short inspection times.

Inline system integration Above conveyor belt

The above-line system sets the benchmark for interlinked inspection systems in complete inspection setups.

It is designed for use with inline engines with up to six cylinders, and reduces cycle times on the production line to an absolute minimum.

Robot inspection system

This fully automatic system can also be integrated into the line and used for complete inspection. Direct programming of the robot is not required, as the system can be configured for new engine blocks on the control panel simply by entering parameters. The resulting high degree of flexibility is a major advantage of the system — it can cope with virtually any engine block design.

Multi-sensor system

This innovative multi-sensor system uses a range of optical technologies to inspect the cylinder bore and plane faces, including cylinder head sealing surfaces, oil pan sides and processed side surfaces. Thanks to a special imaging technique, plane face inspections are largely unaffected by any dirt remaining on the workpiece. The system achieves a line cycle time of 25 seconds
